DuBose Web Partners With Midlands Tech For Continuing Web Education

If you live in the Midlands region of South Carolina, then you have definitely heard of Midlands Technical College. Midlands Tech has seven campuses across the Midlands that offer courses in continued education, certifications, and bridge programs with other universities and local employers.

Our CEO, Blake DuBose, boasts that he earned his own web design certificate from Midlands Tech in 2006 that “ignited a passion” within him to start DuBose Web Group. We are proud to foster such close relations with such an influential institution in our region!

Our purpose at DuBose Web is to improve the lives of our employees and partners so they can make an impact in the community. We are excited to do just that by partnering with Midlands Tech to train future employees for the web industry. Through the college’s TechHire program, we have the unique opportunity to introduce prospective interns to the world of web development. We are delighted to make a positive impact in their lives and PROUD to have them on our team!

In 2016, Midlands Tech was awarded a $4 million technology grant from the Department of Labor, Employment, and Training Administration. The Midlands TechHire Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) Program provides funding for training current employees of local businesses like DuBose Web.

With a focus on front-end web development and coding, interns will also jump right in with our company and be exposed to the first-hand experience with web strategy, design, and inbound marketing.

Through TechHire, Midlands Tech trains young adults (ages 17-29) as well as unemployed or underemployed individuals the chance to develop their website development skills. The program also incorporates general job readiness workshops, like resume assistance, interview preparation, and individual job coaching alongside their applied web development curriculum. If chosen for a scholarship, all of the student’s costs (tuition, books, certification exam) are 100% covered.

In order to be eligible for the program, participants must have graduated high school and live within Richland, Fairfield, or Lexington counties. To learn more about the program, check out their website at https://www.midlandstech.edu/TechHire. And remember our team at DuBose - we’re excited to help young, aspiring web developers get their start in the website development industry!
