With operations spanning the Midlands, Pee Dee and Greater Greenville regions of South Carolina, Harvest Hope Food Bank is an aid to hungry people in over 20 counties across the state. The nonprofit feeds roughly 38,000 people per week, dishing out an astonishing 28 million pounds of food each year. This feat is accomplished through partnerships with 476 member nonprofit agencies, which assist in distributing the food to families and individuals in need.
RESEARCH & PLANNING
Food is a universal human need, and the number of hungry people in the Midlands and beyond continues to grow. To help call attention to this important issue, our plan was to create a website that clearly directs visitors to the path they need, whether it be how to donate, how to volunteer, or where to find assistance.
Design and functionality intersect with a site that is as pleasant to look at as it is easy to use. Inspiring images of real people giving and receiving help appear alongside a simple navigation panel that allows easy travel from page to page.

Our primary concern was making the website easy-to-use, in order to position Harvest Hope as a resource to the community. We set up a structure that would allow visitors to find information easily, while providing awareness about hunger in our state and educating the public on how they can make a difference.

Using Growth Driven Design practices, we built an engaging and cohesive site for Harvest Hope that can be continuously improved based on data-driven decisions. Harvest Hope’s new site creates a hopeful and dignified space for users to find exactly what they need to learn how they can make a difference, contributing to the mission of the organization.
