With operations spanning the Midlands, Pee Dee and Greater Greenville regions of South Carolina, Harvest Hope Food Bank is a boon to hungry people in over 20 counties across the state. The nonprofit feeds roughly 38,000 people per week, dishing out an astonishing 28 million pounds of food each year. This feat is accomplished through partnerships with 476 member nonprofit agencies, which assist in distributing the food to families and individuals in need.
Food is a universal human need, and the number of hungry people in the Midlands and beyond continues to grow. To help call attention to this important issue, our plan was to create a website that clearly directs visitors to the path they need, whether it be how to donate, how to volunteer, or where to find assistance.
Design and functionality intersect with a site that is as pleasant to look at as it is easy to use. Inspiring images of real people giving and receiving help appear alongside a simple side navigation panel that allows easy travel from page to page.
strategy, site mapping, and wireframing
Our primary concern was making the website easy to use. We set up a structure that would allow visitors to find information easily and even sign up to volunteer through online forms.
a style board to fit their brand
Real images of hope and an inspiring color palette convey the uplifting message of Harvest Hope.
Our art director reinvented the visual elements of Harvest Hope’s website, using a colorful, straightforward approach to bring life to the design. To support its team’s ability to make important updates quickly, Harvest Hope also needed an easy-to-use content management system, which the DuBose Web team provided. Now, multiple users can quickly and easily update Harvest Hope’s website without relying on outside help.
